After reading all the controversy over the Sims 4 and how EA was handling things I wasn't sure if I wanted to get Sims 4 or not, especially since they got rid of some of the things that made Sims 3 so awesome, but I kept seeing everyone's gameplay pics on tumblr and decided that I would kind of like to have Sims 4 eventually. I put it on my Christmas list with a note that said that to only buy it if it's on sale, since the one thing everyone agrees with is that it's not really worth the $60 EA is asking for it. So, it must have been on sale because I got Sims 4 for Christmas and have spent a lot of time playing it since then.
So far I’m actually really liking it, it runs so much smoother and faster on my computer than Sims 3 does. I was kind of shocked when I first started playing it at how fast everything was because I’m so used to Sims 3 and its lag (I have a decent computer and when I first create a family the lag isn’t too bad but the more I play the more laggy it gets). The thing I miss the most is Create a Style, that was my favourite thing about Sims 3 and I’m so sad that it’s gone. It is weird not having toddlers, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, toddlers are cute and nice if you’re doing a legacy. On the other hand, they’re needy and I can’t stand crying kids (even in sims) and I’m always relieved when they grow up. I still wish they’d have included toddlers though, I can only hope that they’ll release a Generations-like EP that will include toddlers though I know that for now they’ve said that they have no intention of adding toddlers to the game. I definitely have no intention of giving up Sims 3, and my legacies will continue (to read my Sims 3 legacies check out the link to the left or click here, I also have a tumblr account where I post sims pictures and stuff), so for those who aren’t a fan of Sims 4, don’t worry, my Sims 3 sims aren’t going anywhere :)
Anyways, that said, I decided to start a Sims 4 legacy. I think it would be kind of cool to keep the legacy going for as long as possible and see how things change for them when new EPs are released, and keep the family going throughout all the EPs and game packs that will be released. I'm using the term legacy pretty loosely since I don't typically follow most of the legacy rules as I find them too restricting and I don't like restrictions (I haven't even looked to see if/how the legacy rules changed for Sims 4), but the main goal of starting out poor (in this case, I don't follow the rules by going with the biggest lot, I choose the lot that I want and allow my sims to use their money to build whatever kind of house they can, I also will probably allow heir spouses to bring their money with them when they move in), using no cheats and trying to get to generation 10 (or higher hopefully in this case) isn't changing. So, that said, meet the Carnes family! Bare with me if things start out really slow and boring, I'm still getting used to Sims 4 and all the changes.
