Sorry for the delay again, I've been busy with the Sims 3 challenge my friend and I are doing. I'm slowly getting caught up, I'm about a generation ahead in my game than I am in this blog and I don't want to play until I've gotten up to date. Which is driving me crazy as I want the new Spa Day game pack and the two stuff packs that have come out! Anyways, last time everyone turned into teenagers and their house got some renovations.
Nicole is having some issues with the scrambled eggs she’s trying to make…
Nikki now has the option to paint landscapes! I don’t remember seeing that before so I guess it came with Outdoor Retreat. Those will be nice to frame and hang up around the house!
Lol she’s such a dork
Around this time is when Outdoor Retreat came out, so the Carnes decided to go on a much needed family vacation. It'll give the family time to bond before it's time to choose the heir ;)
Nikki called and booked a cabin so after the kids got home from school and Nathan got home from work they packed up and headed to Granite Falls.
They lit a fire and all sat down to roast some hot dogs.
Natalie: Mmmm, that was good!
Nathan’s already relaxing and the stress of work has melted off of him. He desperately needed a vacation!
There were some logs near their cabin so Nadine went to check for frogs.
Nadine: Hell yeah, I found one!
It’s a bear! Or, well, a sim in a bear costume that wanders around the campground. Even though it’s not a real bear, he still freaks out all the sims he encounters.
Well, most sims.
Natalie: Hey there!
Natalie: Don’t you try to scare me! That shit’s not gonna work on me, you hear me!
Bear: Woah, I wasn’t going to try! I just wanted to say hi.
Poor misunderstood bear.
Finding lots of stuff!
Everyone was getting sleepy so Natalie headed down to the small shop to buy needed supplies. There will be time to explore in the morning!
There wasn't any room inside for the two air mattresses so the girls had to sleep outside. At least it's a clear evening. Gotta rough it when you're camping, right?
The adults got the nice, comfy bed inside the cabin.

Nikki: I slept great! I love this cabin!

Nadine: And then they slipped a plastic snake in his bed when he wasn't looking.

Natalie: Oh man, he hasn't texted me back D:

Nathan: Oh hey, I caught a...seaweed monster?
Nikki: Hey guys! I made some frank 'n beans! Come get it!
She's really enjoying the crisp mountain air.
Nicole: Ew, there are flies everywhere!
Natalie: Welcome to the outdoors, Princess.
Park Ranger: Hey guys. Make sure to throw your trash in the designated trash bins and securely store all of your food indoors away from the animals.
Nikki and Nicole: Hey! Don't worry, we'll make sure everything stays clean!
Nadine: Ew, frank 'n beans? What kind of meal is that?
Gotta take a selfie!
Nadine: Woah, I was not expecting it to taste like that!
Washing dishes, don't want to make the park ranger mad!
Nathan: So many flies around the bathrooms! D:
Oh hey, it's Liam! That boy is EVERYWHERE. It's a little creepy though I'm still holding out for him and Natalie.

She brought her guitar along, hoping she'd have some time to practice. And annoy all the other campers no doubt.
The three of them sat down for a nice game of cards (Nicole and Natalie didn't feel like joining).
Nikki: My hand sucks!
Nicole: Got room for one more?
Nikki: Sure, I'll deal you in!
Nicole: Hmm, I think you're bluffing.
Nathan: Ha, shows what you know!
Everyone's deep in concentration (minus Nathan lol, he looks very confident in his hand).
Nathan: You-you-you tricked me! How could you let your mom win and not me?
Nicole: Psh, don't be such a sore looser, Dad.
Nikki: Hahahaha! *is very smug*
Enjoying the view of the stars far away from all the city lights.

When the girls went to sleep Nikki and Nathan stayed up talking.
Nikki: So are you liking it here?
Nathan: No deadlines, no dealing with hard to please clients, no computers beckoning to me to continue writing, what's not to like?

The next morning everyone went out to explore Granite Falls.
Natalie had her birthday! In the middle of the woods with no party or anyone besides one sister to celebrate.
Nadine: Whatever, you're so over dramatic Natalie.
Since teen sims look more or less the same as adults (which is infuriating, you can pretty much only tell the difference by hovering over them and it'll show their name and age) I won't bother with an "after" picture until after I've given her her new adult clothes.
Nikki: Ow, it stabbed me :(
Poor baby got pricked by a thorn.
But finding something nice and shiny in a rock makes up for being stabbed by thorns.
Oooh, a cave!
Nathan: Here goes nothing. I hope they come looking for me if I don’t come home…
He spent several minutes trying to hack furiously through the brush when a large spider web blocked his way. He debated between whether he should brave the spiders and push through the web, or find an alternative route but his fear of spiders won out and he chose a different way to get through the tunnel. And of course that alternate route was coated in over-ripe fireleaf. No fun!
Nathan: Whew, made it out alive! Ew, now I have webs and crap all over me.

Poor thing’s still feeling quite down, though. Sims get so hurt if you don’t at least make them a cake and have a family party for them. My bad, Natalie!

The sun was starting to go down so Nikki light a fire in the fire pit.
Oh my god, these girls and their freaking selfies. Good lord!
Nikki brought out her guitar so they could all sing campfire songs or something like that.
Nathan: Oooh, fire!
Like responsible campers, Nathan made sure to put the fire out before going to bed. Don’t want to start any forest fires!
Nathan got up early to spend some time fishing.
Natalie and Nadine challenged each other to a game of horseshoes.
And Nicole stayed indoors to watch TV >.<
Nikki: Goddamn flies!
Natalie’s still moping around over something (I guess still her missed birthday?). You’re no longer a teen, you’re not supposed to stay so goddamn emotional! Geez!
Nadine: Okay, I got this!
No she didn’t.
Nikki: Okay, let’s see if I can do this!
Natalie: That was such a pathetic throw Nadine. I can totally kick your ass.
Nadine: Psh, whatever!
Nathan: *continues to fish blissfully unaware of the bear creeping up on him*
Nathan: Woah, why do I have this sudden sense of dread.
Yay he actually caught something!
Okay then.
Nicole! Put some clothes on! You can’t just go walking around like that in public!
That’s better!
Nicole: Oh look, that cloud looks like a bunny!
Well at least she’s outside actually doing something.
I finally got around to changing her clothes so she no longer looks like a teenager. Her traits are Cheerful, Foodie, Essence of Flavour, and Snob, and her aspiration is Master Mixologist.
Nikki: So how have you liked the camping trip?
Natalie: Um, rude! Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep here?!
Nadine: Eh, it’s been okay but I’m kind of over roughing it in the outdoors.
Clearly neither of them care that Natalie’s trying to sleep.
Time for their vacation to end and everyone to go back home and back to their everyday lives. Sorry about the plumbob showing >.<
And on that note I'll go ahead and end this chapter. The next one will be the last for generation one (and will probably be quite a bit longer, since there's a lot of stuff to feature). So, yeah, come back later to see birthdays, weddings, and find out who will be the heir to carry on the Carnes family name!
