The Carnes 1.5

Last post for this generation! Last time I got Outdoor Retreat and the Carnes went on a nice little vacation in the great outdoors, and the chapter ended when they arrived home. Natalie aged up into an adult, and was very depressed because she didn’t get a cake and party. Poor spoiled little baby.

Since Natalie’s a foodie she decided to get a job in the culinary career. I’m blanking on the exact job title/career branch she chose but I’m pretty sure it was the culinary career with maybe a “specialization” in mixology. Something like that. 

 The kids keep going off and leaving their homework. It doesn’t really do you any good to do your homework and then leave it at home on the table when you go off to school!

Good grief, stop freaking breaking everything! 

 Nikki: *twitch* Damn kids broke my TV *tries to keep her calm*

They finally released a game patch that included pools so I gave the Carnes a swimming pool! Nothing fancy as that’s about as much room as they had in their yard, at some point I guess they’ll have to move to a bigger property where they can have a nicer back yard. 

 Ooh, Nadine brought a guy home! His name is Darius Leal. 

 Nadine’s not quite sure what to make of him. Better make up your mind soon girl, there are two other girls in the house who need boys as well!

I bought her a bar so she can work on her aspiration. 

 He’s such a kid!

And again with the breaking shit, what the hell guys? I have no idea who the grey haired woman is in the back O.o Maybe their maid? Though she's not in uniform...

Nikki: You look stressed, come here, let me help with that.

Nathan: Oh god that feels amazing!

Nadine: This breakfast tastes nasty!

Nikki: Swimming is the best thing ever!

Now that she has income, Natalie bought herself a computer. No more sharing with her dad (who, being an author, is usually on the family computer). 

 Natalie, being a foodie and working in the culinary career, has been designated the family cook. She was in an especially good mood this morning so she made some happy gummy bear pancakes.

Nicole’s taken over the family garden, giving Nikki time to focus on her music. 

Aw, it’s Nathan’s birthday. 

He’s all old now. Always makes me a little sad when my founders age up.

 Birthday time for Nadine (and Nicole too, since they’re twins)! So many birthdays!

And here she is! I feel like everyone looks alike in this game, maybe I just didn’t give my founders enough genetic diversity but I can’t really tell who they look like. Not like in Sims 3 where you can obviously tell which trait’s a sim inherited from which parent. Or maybe it’s all really subtle and I’m just not picking up on any of the differences. Either way, everyone’s pretty so I guess I can’t complain too much. Her traits are Outgoing, Romantic, Alluring and Family-Oriented and her Aspiration is to find her Soulmate.

 Aw, what’s wrong Nadine? Being an adult isn’t that bad!

 And now it’s Nicole’s turn. Nikki’s way of dealing with all of her kids growing up is to just steel herself against the emotions and refuse to give in to any of them.

 Here she is! Sporting some new Outdoor Retreat clothes/hair style. Her traits are Loves the Outdoors, Romantic, Collector and Athletic and her Aspiration is to be a Freelance Botanist.

All the girls grew up nicely, though I really wish they had included the option to randomize traits in Sims 4. I don’t like having to choose the traits, it’s way more fun to randomize them as then you get traits you might not have chosen otherwise. I don’t know if it’s because the girls are so similar or what but I really don’t have a favourite so far.

 Off to the bar/club/whatever it’s called to see if she can meet any decent guys!

 Oh hey, it’s Liam again. And some other guy who’s name I don’t remember.

 Sims are so inappropriate sometimes!

 Nicole eventually gave up on trying to pick up guys and made herself a drink instead.

 Annoying all the other customers with her horrible attempts at playing the piano.

 Time to go home! Well, she at least met one new guy, so the night wasn’t a total bust, even if she really didn’t have much time to get to know him.

 Nicole spent some time fishing in the river beside their house.

 The next day Nadine and Nicole headed back to the club where Nadine met Erick Long.

Nadine: Hi *giggles*

They seem to be getting along quite well!

Erick: Yeah, my family’s always been really close and I’ve always dreamt of having a big family.

Nadine: Oh wow, that’s so cool! Me too!

 Nicole sat down and started talking with this guy, who’s name I forget (I really am awful at remembering sims’ names).

 Nadine: Oh Erick, it’s like we were made for each other!

 Yay her first kiss!

Erick: Woah, I wasn’t expecting that!

 Nadine: Was that okay? I’m not moving too fast for you, am I?

Erick: No! Not at all! That was great!

 Lol this is her idea of a sexy pose.

 Nothing like a little PDA. They’re officially dating at this point, too. Nadine is moving insanely fast but when you meet a nice guy and you have two sisters who are also on the hunt for nice guys you’ve gotta stake your claim quickly before a sister steals him! She’s desperate and isn’t afraid to admit it!

 Erick: Wow, that was awesome!

Natalie’s having trouble adjusting to working full time.

I still can’t remember this guy’s name, but he’s the guy Nicole was talking with in the club the other night.

 Ugh, I don’t know why sims feel the need to randomly drop down and do pushups in social settings but it’s really freaking annoying!

 Nicole: He’s a really nice guy, I think I kind of like him!

 Okay, sure, you just go walking around the house and sitting down to watch TV naked. That’s not weird or inappropriate at all…

 Natalie: So, Liam, we’re good friends right? We grew up together and all of that. And you’re still single and I’m still single, right? Do you have any, ya know, plans for the future?

Liam: … no.

Even though they’ve been friends since they were kids and Liam comes over constantly, every time Natalie would try to flirt with him she’d end up saying something wrong and getting really embarrassed and that would put an end to the conversation.

 Nadine got a job in the business career.

 As she continues to work on her new aspiration, Nikki has taken up the violin, giving everyone in the household (including me) headaches.

 Nadine: Hey baby, thanks for coming over!

Nadine: So, I was thinking. I know we haven’t been dating very long and all, but I love you and don’t want to spend my life with anyone but you.

Erick: Babe, what are you doing on the floor?

 Nadine: Erick, will you marry me?

Erick: Really?!

Of course he said yes. Lol at the diamond engagement ring he’s wearing.

 So much excitement! They’re such dorks lol

 It’s Nikki’s birthday!

It’s always a little bittersweet when the founders age into elders. Especially with this game as they’re my first ever sims 4 sims to play. Not totally sold on her hair as it makes her look really strict and harsh but I wasn’t liking any of the other hair styles either. 

Lol I think Erick is a childish sim.

Nathan: Do you mind? I’m trying to get some work done!

Erick: Neigh neigh I’m a big fancy race horse!

Well, you know what they say about how girls tend to marry guys that remind them of their fathers.

 She’s continuing to practice mixing drinks, which are largely going to waste because as both a foodie and a snob, she won’t drink them unless they’re perfect.

 Nikki: Well, your sister’s getting married soon.

Nicole: Yeah, it’s kind of weird to think about my twin sister getting married. I guess we’re officially adults now, huh?

Nikki: So, what about you Nicole? Have you found a guy yet? You know I’m not getting any younger here.

Nicole: Woah Mom, slow down. I’ll find a guy when I’m damn well ready but not before then!
Natalie: I’ll take a guy now!

Nadine: So all the plans have been finalized for the wedding, have you booked the honeymoon yet?

Erick: Yup!

Nadine: Where are we going?

Erick: It’s a surprise!

Wedding time! I added a little wedding area to the night club or whatever in Oasis Springs and that’s where they chose to get married.

 Natalie’s not sure what she thinks of her little sister getting married.

 They are now husband and wife! I apologize for that stupid white highlight, I HATE how that shows up in pictures.

 Time to cut the cake! Erick, get your butt over here!

 Mmmm, cake!

 Meanwhile, inside the club some random dude up and died. Wow, way to ruin the mood of the wedding!

 Sketchy dude with the mustache: Hey baby, how about you come home with me tonight?

Nicole: Nope, you’re not even worth acknowledging.

 At some point I must have changed Nathan’s hair. I’m not sure why, I liked it better before O.o Anyways, this pathetic “dancing” is what he did most of the wedding.

Nikki: My husband is a child.

I originally was going to do an heir poll and let everyone choose who would be the heir to the Carnes family name, but I ended up getting really behind in my blog (and am still crazy behind) and I didn’t want to stop playing sims until I got caught up and could get an heir poll. So when my best friend came over to hang out and check out Sims 4 I let her choose the heir and it was decided that Nicole would be this generation’s heir. So once they got married Nadine and Erick moved out to start their own lives. Stay in touch guys!

 The next day Nicole was feeling kind of depressed now that her twin is married and she’s still single so she headed down to the bar.

 Liam was there so Nicole sat down and started talking.

 The more they talked the more they realized they had in common and Nicole found herself slowly falling for this boy.

 They are now officially dating! Poor Natalie, nothing like having your sister steal your man. Though to be fair, he was never very interested in her, Natalie was the one trying to chase after him.

Nicole: Oh Daddy, I love him so much! I just know that I want to marry him!

Nathan: I’m happy for you honey.

 All of his babies are growing up.

 Fortunately the fact that Nicole is dating the guy Natalie liked hasn’t gotten between the two sisters.

Natalie: Yes! I finally made something good!

Nicole: Natalie, everything you make is good.

Natalie: Ha, I wish! You’re sweet though.

 Natalie finally found a guy who will love her back. She just had to wait longer than she wanted to. His name is Darius Leal and he and Natalie are now officially dating.

 Nicole, what’s with that face??

Nathan: I don’t feel so good…

 Nathan: *passes out*

 Nooooooo!

 Don’t do it Nathan, don’t go towards the light!

 RIP Nathan, thanks for being an awesome founder. You will be missed. Also, I love how Liam, who’s only dating Nicole and isn’t actually in this family is grieving the loss of Nathan, whereas his daughter Nicole is over there gardening and doesn’t even notice her father dying behind her. Nice.

 Nicole: Hey babe, thanks for being there for me when my dad died and for caring so much. There’s nobody I’d rather have by my side than you.

 Nicole: So, Liam, will you marry me?

 Nicole: You have my heart completely.

 Obviously he said yes ;)

 Nicole: OMG I’m so excited!!!

Liam: Hell yes!

 Nicole: You’re so cute!

Liam: *swoons*

 Poor thing is so depressed over the loss of her husband.

 Natalie and Darius are getting pretty close.

 Nikki: Natalie, what are you doing kneeling on the floor?

Natalie: Mom, please!

Natalie: Darius will you marry me?

Nikki: Everyone’s leaving me :(

Nothing like proposing with your mom right there watching. Awkward!

 Despite his expression in the last picture, he really did say yes.

 I was in a hurry to get her married off and moved out so I can get started with gen two so she and Darius had a private wedding in her bedroom. Oh so romantic (not).

They are now officially married! And with that, Natalie packed up her stuff and she and Darius moved out, leaving the house to Nicole and Nikki.
